If you are in the area of the Riva del Garda in July or August, do not forget about a very interesting evening which is going to be held at the so- callled villa Vittoriale degli Italiani.
It is the annual international art festival, hosting some great performers who come from all over the world. Dancers, singers, classical dancers, operetta’s players: you will be able to see all of them in just one event.
If you are asking yourself the name of the artists involved, keep in mind that last year Patty Smith, as well a the New York City Ballet Company performed in the open-air teather inside the Villa, having a great place where to express themselves in front to so many tourists and art lovers.
The place once was the house of one of the Italian poet, Gabriele D’Annunzio, also know for being involved in WWI. That’s where the name of the place comes from: something recalled to the Italian people, since he was so patriotic and he expressed several of his ideas in some of his works, letting people either loving or hating him.
Going back to talk about the event, during at the end of these 2 months, on the last Saturday of August, the town is going to host the celebration named “Notte di Fiaba” (“the night fairy tale” in Italian), which is going to end the festival.
In the meantime, what a great way to enjoy the sun visiting a town which is usually nice and not that crowed, but which is transformed in something totally different for the event.
Not only artists but also lovely fireworks will aim the shores of the Garda Lake, as a nice and curious way to say goodbye to the summer and slowly starting September, which will bring, of course, fall.
