Once you are in the Garda Lake area, you can’t miss some cultural place, such as the well known Vittoriale Museum.
It is the impressive monument located on the hills of Gardone Riviera, and it has been buit following the wishes and plans of the poet Gabriele d’Annunzio, a famous Italian poet who was born in 1863 and died in 1938. It is a very big are where tourists can visit the Prioria, the house of the poet and the and the old Auditorium, which nowadays has become the War Museum.
There you can see the SVA 10 airplane, the one d’Annunzio took to make his daring flight above Wien.
There are of course other interesting attractions, such as the new shipping museum called Museo di Bordo, the cruiser Puglia, the Mausoleum, the unforgettable cars Isotta Fraschini and Fiat Type 4. Take a walk around to choose which attraction suits your interests, since there are 9 hectares of green to visit and enjoy, surrounded by the Mediterranean vegetations.
You can also visit the Vittoriale park and the private gardens which are very particulary and not ordinary, as the poet himself, actually. You can understand it through his personal objects collected in the Prioria building.
Sometimes new attractions are built, such as it happened for the museum “D’Annunzio segreto”, which contains more than 150 objects which have never been shown to thepublic.
Then of course visitors can find the souvenirs and gift shops, as well as cafè and restaurants.
